Extra virgin olive oil is now known for its beneficial and healthy qualities, in fact it is defined as the king of the Mediterranean diet par excellence and has become part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site for its countless benefits.
The consumption of extra virgin olive oil brings innumerable natural substances including antioxidants, vitamin "E" and "polyphenols". The latter fight and hinder the negative action of free radicals on the cells of our body, slowing down aging.

The greater presence of monounsaturated fatty acids (oleic acid) in olive oil is an active part in the significant reduction of LDL (bad) cholesterol without reducing HDL (good) cholesterol, counteracting the risk of atherosclerosis and coronary heart disease. Oleic acid also plays a positive role in stimulating the esophageal sphincter with a beneficial effect on reflux gastritis. In addition, it acts on the contraction of the gallbladder with beneficial effects in the prevention of gallstones and in the activation of intestinal peristalsis.
Due to its emollient properties and its beneficial effects it is widely used in the production of beauty products. In recent years it has been shown that olive oil has a composition of fatty acids (triglycerides) very similar to the skin's sebum and among the natural lipids it is the one with the greatest affinity.
In addition to fats, it contains a small percentage of vitamin "E" which protects the skin from aging and controls the production of melanin. It also contains vitamin "A" which prevents dryness and vitamin "D" which allows a good intake of calcium, it also contains squalene which reforms the hydrolipidic thread weakened by sunlight and detergents.
